At Mr Beauty, animal welfare is the foundation of everything we do. Our goal is confident cats and protected wildlife—achieved kindly, safely, and with evidence-based practice.
Our principles
- Welfare-first, consent-led: We work at the cat’s pace, using choice and gradual exposure. If a cat shows ongoing stress, we pause, adjust, or stop.
- Positive reinforcement: We use rewards to teach; we avoid punishment and minimise aversives.
- Wildlife-safe by design: We do not support free-roaming. We advocate containment at home and supervised, on-lead outdoor time.
- Safety and fit: We use well-fitted equipment (harness, lead, carrier, backpack). No choke, prong, electric or pain-based devices—ever.
- Health partnership: Guardians are responsible for veterinary care; we collaborate with vets and refer medical or dietary matters to them.
- Individual needs: Age, health, temperament and prior learning inform every plan. Training is tailored, short, and repeatable.
During coaching, events and demonstrations
- Cats are supervised by a competent handler at all times and never left unattended.
- Water, rest breaks, shade/temperature management and a private litter tray are provided.
- Movement through public spaces is via secure carrier or harness and lead.
- We will end or remove a cat from any session if welfare standards can’t be maintained.
- We never sedate animals for training, events or transport.
Nutrition & enrichment
- We offer practical guidance on feeding routines and enrichment (puzzles, play, environment design). We do not provide veterinary nutrition advice; medical diets are referred to your vet.
Environmental responsibility
- We select durable materials, encourage responsible disposal of waste (including kitty litter), and teach wildlife-aware etiquette on every outing.
Kindness is not a style choice; it is a standard. If a practice isn’t good for the cat—or good for wildlife—we don’t do it.
